District Team

As a District Team we meet quarterly at our Moravian Road HQ to discuss important information and upcoming events that will affect our members.

Jamie Martin
District Commissioner

After starting as a Cub at the 46th Kingswood/1st Longwell Green in the 80’s and making his way through Scouting, Jamie took his first warrant as an Assistant Beaver Scout Leader at the 34th Kingswood/St Mary’s Bitton in 1998. Jamie has continued to Scout in various roles, and as well as being the District Commissioner he is also Cub leader in the same group and pack that his Scouting journey began.

Rachel Ferrand
Assistant District Commissioner – Beavers

Rachel joined Scouting when her son James was a Beaver at the 28th Kingswood, 1st Downend Scout group around 1999. Later becoming the Beaver leader there and then Assistant Group Scout leader too, she is also the District Beaver Leader and a member of the District executive.

Terry Scull
Assistant District Commissioner – Scouts

Terry joined the executive committee as a co-opted member when he was the 54th GSL. When he stepped down from the GSL role, he continued in his role on the Executive Committee until he was appointed District Scout Leader in 2018. In addition he is also one of Kingswood District’s Nights Away Assessors. He also represents Kingswood District on the Avon Scout Committee and recently he has taken up the role of a Kingswood District Training Advisor.

Bob Luckett

Bob Sellar

Having moved from Scotland to Longwell Green in 1985, Bob signed up as an Assistant Scout Leader with the 46th Kingswood/1st Longwell Green group in 1989. He remained with the Group until 2001 during which time became Scout Leader and Scouter in Charge. Since 2016 Bob has joined the District team as secretary.

Joy Redfern
District Treasurer

In addition to being treasurer for District, Joy is also the treasurer for the 67th Kingswood Scout Group and Marvel Explorers. During the Ten Tors season, Joy volunteers for the Group as a minibus driver.
